IdeaPanda ("we," "us," or "our") is a signal aggregation and idea synthesis tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using IdeaPanda you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information you do not provide. IdeaPanda does not require account registration, login, or the submission of any personal information to use the core product. We do not collect your name, email address, or payment information.
Automatically collected data. When you access IdeaPanda, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the pages you visit. This data is used solely for operational purposes (debugging, security monitoring) and is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
Locally stored preferences. IdeaPanda may use browser local storage or cookies to remember your in-app preferences (e.g., layout choice, filters). No personally identifiable information is stored in these mechanisms.
IdeaPanda fetches publicly available information from third-party platforms including Hacker News, Product Hunt, Reddit, Y Combinator's public API, and RSS news feeds. All aggregated content originates from public sources. We do not scrape private profiles, gated content, or any data that requires authentication on those platforms.
IdeaPanda uses third-party AI APIs (including OpenAI) to process, classify, and synthesize aggregated signals into business ideas. Titles and snippets of publicly sourced content may be transmitted to these APIs as part of this processing. We do not send any personal user data to AI providers. Use of AI services is governed by the respective provider's terms and privacy policies.
Aggregated signal data and synthesized ideas are stored in a local SQLite database. This data is retained for as long as the application is operated. You may clear all stored data at any time by resetting the database. We do not maintain backups on third-party cloud storage by default.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:
We implement reasonable technical measures (HTTPS, security headers, input validation) to protect data processed by IdeaPanda. However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and disclaim liability for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
IdeaPanda is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of IdeaPanda after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
